Christopher Nolan has added another A-lister to his upcoming sci-fi flick Interstellar. Deadline broke the news that Anne Hathaway will join Matthew McConaughey in the top secret film that is due for release in November 7, 2014. At this point, there really isn't much more to discuss since we don't know much, but the news is pretty exciting.
While I wasn't a huge fan of The Dark Knight Rises, Anne Hathaway gave a wonderful performance in it and I'm thrilled to see her reunite with Nolan in what will (hopefully) be a better film. But watching Nolan cast his films is always exciting, as he assembles a lot of A-list talent. Interstellar is an early contender for my most anticipated film of 2014, and I can't wait to check it out.
After the jump, check out a new trailer and more!
In other news...
- The trailer for Elysium was released tonight. Interesting tidbit: I was at San Diego Comic Con over the summer and saw unfinished footage from the film and it looked pretty good. But this trailer certainly increases my anticipation. From a visual standpoint, it looks quite stunning and the action looks incredible. Plus, I love Matt Damon and Jodie Foster. What do you think? Check out the trailer here. The film hits theaters on August 9.
- I never saw the MacGruber film from a few years ago, but I do remember the film flopping hard. So, you can imagine my surprise when Will Forte announced that a sequel is being planner. It doesn't seem like Forte is sure how it's going to happen- a Kickstarter was mentioned as a possibility- but he confirms that it will be happening so fans of the film can look forward to that.
- Finally, some interesting speculation: Edgar Wright has tweeted that he directed one shot from a summer film (not including his own, The World's End). So- what could it be? Slashfilm wrote a fantastic article on it, which you can read here. My own thoughts? Since Wright seems to insist it is not Iron Man 3, I'm going to go with Star Trek Into Darkness since Wright is good friends with Simon Pegg. But I'm up for other theories.
